How can you convert a bicycle into an electrical generator? and how do you use the electricity generated?

I would love to sit and watch TV and have to power the thing while riding a bike. Any ideas?

Yes!

If you want to use a bike that you will also ride elsewhere, here is an easy way:

1. Buy a "trainer" for your bike that allows you to set your rear wheel on it and power a fan.

2. Remove the fan, and attach a pulley that will drive a 12V generator you can buy from an auto parts store

3. charge a 12V car battery with the generator

4. Use an "inverter" to run the television off the battery.

This will allow you to start and stop riding without the TV dying every time you stop pedaling.

Here are the complete instructions: http://www.scienceshareware.com/bike_gen.htm

If you want to buy a ready-to-use pedal generator with battery and power pack for your TV, try this: http://www.gadgetell.com/2006/11/a-green-portable-power-machine/

And to the guy who told you to "google" it: Yes, everyone knows how to use a search engine. Telling someone to do so does not qualify as answering the question. You should only answer questions you can lend something to.
